The 2020 NFL season is up and running in full force at this stage. The likes of Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Tennessee Titans are some of the teams who have been tipped to challenge for Super Bowl honors in 2020. But there are a few others who have had a season to forget. For example, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.
The Patriots were in trouble before the 2020 NFL season even started. A number of their high-profile stars such as LB Dont’a Hightower, S Patrick Chung, and TE Mat LaCrosse all opted out of playing this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
With Cam Newton as their starter, the Patriots have just two wins to their name from six games. They’ve been dealt another huge blow in the build-up to their crucial Week 8 fixture against AFC East rivals, Buffalo Bills.

As per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, veteran wide receiver Julian Edelman is set to be moved to the Patriots’ injury reserve list. Reports indicate that Edelman underwent knee surgery earlier this week and will be out for a minimum of three weeks.
The 34-year-old has endured a tough outing with the Patriots in 2020. Apart from his stellar outing against the Seattle Seahawks in Week Two, Edelman has flown under the radar this season. On 21 receptions, Edelman has 315 yards to his name with zero receiving TDs.

Heading into Week 8, the Patriots are on a 2-4 record. They are winless in their last three league outings. Coach Belichick will definitely feel the pinch of playing without starters, Julian Edelman and N’Keal Harry (concussion).

Cam Newton will have to rely on the services of backup WRs Damiere Byrd, Jakobi Meyers, and Gunner Olszewski on Sunday. The Pats will need ‘lady luck’ to shine on them if they intend to take away maximum points from Sunday’s game at the Ralph Wilson Stadium.
