The NFL season has kicked off with its usual excitement and injury incidents. However, this season has introduced some standout rookies, including Jalen Carter of the Eagles, Bryce Young of the Panthers, and CJ Stroud of the Texans. In addition to these emerging talents, another dynamic quarterback is making his debut this season, reminiscent of Cam Newton‘s entry into the league. That quarterback is Anthony Richardson of the Indianapolis Colts.
Despite Richardson’s season debut in the NFL ending in a defeat, there are some points to remember that the Colts quarterback emerged as a potential player against the Jacksonville Jaguars, finishing with the fourth-highest point total among quarterbacks in standard leagues in Week 1. However, his performance was marred by an injury sustained during the game, raising questions about his availability for Week 2.

Late in the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson was carried off the field due to a minor knee bone bruise. Since then the Colts’ fans have been looking for his update on the injury. And now the Indianapolis Colts have released the injury report. However, the report does not have the name on the list, which means Richardson is good to go for his next game against the Houston Texans on Sunday.
With Richardson on the next game, it would be quite interesting to see two rookie QBs Richardson and CJ Stroud, both being dynamic, playing against each other. These two quarterbacks also were nominated for the NFL Rookie of the Week, and have both arm strength and rushing ability. These young gunslingers show off velocity with throws ranging from 59 to 62 mph.
On the other hand, both the teams still have injured players on their sides, and fans are just praying that these players’ absences shouldn’t have much impact on the teams’ wins.
Which players are on the injury list?
Anthony Richardson has been cleared to play despite a minor injury, but the Colts have some notable names on their injury list, including Zack Moss, Quenton Nelson, Andrew Ogletree, and Braden Smith. Running back Moss, who was restricted during Week 1, finished his first full session of the year. Guard Nelson, whose job on the Indianapolis offensive line is crucial in protecting Anthony Richardson, was hurt in the first game but recovered to finish the contest. Right tackle Braden Smith played every snap in Week 1.
However, tight end Drew Ogletree is still in the concussion protocol following an injury sustained in the opener, making his availability uncertain as he took a hard hit to the head. On the other hand, the Houston Texans have also released their first injury report, which includes several players.
