One of the most classic displays of resilience was the Bears-Packers rivalry. The rivalry has grown in prominence. The most recent was when Aaron Rodgers’ touchdown celebration against the Chicago Bears turned sour. Furthermore, Rich Eisen wonders how the 1985 Bears would react to a brash Aaron Rodgers, and a Bears legend responds to it.

This year, Green Bay is looking to make its case for a Lombardi. With Rodgers heading back into the team, they look rather formidable. Even the Chicago Bears, who made a few updates in the offseason, look promising to make a run for the title. With both teams all decked up, the road to kick-off becomes more exciting.

In the recent Rich Eisen Show, HOFer Mike Singletary joins the show alongside the host. During the interview, Eisen speculates on how Singletary and his 1985 Monsters of the Midway Bears would stack up against a rambunctious Aaron Rodgers.

Samurai Mike mentions, “You know, in all honesty, I don’t really know. I think if someone would have said that while we were playing, I would have been shocked. I would have thought something was wrong with this person because there were times in the game. I honestly looked at Richard Dent, Otis Wilson, uh, Wilbur Marshall, and asked him not to hit the quarterback anymore, don’t hit the guy again. Just wrap him up. ‘I’m gonna get it. I’m gonna kill him!’ Wait, come on, man! Just push him down. There were times that I had to say that.”

The 1985 Bears defense is the best defensive season of all time. In their prime, they could’ve smashed Aaron Rodgers. That’s when Singletary had to arrive to defend the quarterback.

Aaron Rodgers isn’t apologetic to the Chicago Bears fan

When Aaron Rodgers celebrated his touchdown, none thought that it would become highly publicized. Rodgers repetitively hollered at Bears fans sitting down near the goal line after his six-yard touchdown run all but secured the big win by 24-14. He yelled, “I own you… I still own you”.

Cut to 2 months later; Aaron Rodgers isn’t backpedaling or apologizing for his actions at Soldier Field. He’s placing greater emphasis. The Bears fans supposedly gave him the middle finger in response to his celebration. Rodgers enhanced his overall record against the Bears to 22-5, which includes their playoff victories. The Bears’ last victory over the Packers came in 2018, and they are hoping for a repeat of what happened.
