It’s not looking good for Zach Wilson. The New York Jets suffered an immeasurable loss on Thursday Night Football. Their playoff dreams were almost true until it suddenly wasn’t anymore. After the humiliating loss at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Jets dropped under 500 for the season. And the Patriots can make things exponentially harder with a win next week. The Jets home crowd let their displeasure echo in the MetLife Stadium last night.
And most of their problems were with the Jets quarterback. Zach Wilson found himself at the end of boos and whistles after the embarrassing first two halves, during which the Jets offense gained a collective 66 yards and converted only three first downs. Wilson finished only nine of his passes accurately and even threw an interception before the end of the 2nd quarter near the Jacksonville 25-yard line.

Zach Wilson only passed for 92 yards in the 19-3 loss to Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars who are now tied at 7-8 with the Jets in the AFC leaderboard. In his 9 starts this season, Wilson has 1688 passing yards along with only 6 TDs and a critically high 7 interceptions. And his Jets days could very well be over since this is not the first time Zach has made his teammates unhappy.
Zach Wilson missed a few games this season when he indirectly took a shot at his defense
About the booing from the Jets crowd on TNF last night, Zach Wilson had a somewhat mature reply. Wilson owned up to the team’s lack of offensive efficiency. And understood the plight of the hungry Jets fanbase.

“I don’t blame them. We have a very passionate fanbase. They are here to watch us score touchdowns. And we are not scoring touchdowns. We’re not getting first downs. Not moving the ball. We obviously can’t throw the ball. Of course they are going to be frustrated,” the 23-year-old QB from BYU said after the game. Fans ripped into him.

Could've pulled one of the booing fans put them in pads and had them play better than Wilson did

Zach’s humble response to the agitated crowd was quite surprising. The last time Wilson answered a question about his performance, he went with arrogance instead. After their Week 11 10-3 loss to divisional rivals New England Patriots, reporters asked the 2nd overall 2021 draft pick if his 77 passing yards let the Jets’ defense down. And Zach Wilson curtly replied, “No.” After this, Wilson didn’t play the next 3 games where QB Mike White filled in as a very able replacement. However, he was injured in the game against the Jaguars.

But the crowd wasn’t having any more of Wilson last night. And finally, HC Robert Saleh had to give in as former backup Cardinals QB Chris Streveler finished the rest of the game for New York. For their last two games, the Jets have the Seahawks and the Miami Dolphins on the road. Will Zach Wilson spend all his time on the sideline?
