As soon as the 2022 NFL schedule dropped, all eyes were on November 14, a big story fixture. Carson Wentz’s homecoming to Philadelphia was on the entire NFL community’s radar. However, a finger injury kept the world from getting the big headline game, as Wentz was ruled out. His deputy, Taylor Heinicke stepped up and gave everyone a big headline. The Taylor Heinicke Show

The Commanders delivered the upset of the season as they beat the undefeated Eagles. The 8-0 eagles looked to continue their unbeaten run, but Taylor Heinicke had other plans. Stepping up as Wentz’s deputy, he ensured a solid showing and led the team to a comfortable 32-21 win. He didn’t rack up the numbers- throwing 0 touchdowns, but he threw the big passes when they mattered most.

In full Kirk Cousins style, Heinicke hopped on the plane ride back home double fisting two Busch lights and dripped out in extensive jewelry. He wore the jewelry without any shirt on and posed for the camera, celebrating his heroics on the field.

Tough run for Carson Wentz

Wentz has been below average as per his standards. He was a force in the Eagles jersey when he was drafted by them in 2016. He guided them to the Superbowl, only to miss out on the game through injury. However, the Eagles won their first-ever Superbowl that year. Wentz has also been a dominant force for the Indianapolis Colts as he guided them to a winning season. However, since his trade to the Washington outfit, he has been below par. His numbers haven’t been good, and that is reflected in the Commanders’ record  (5-5) just at 0.500.

There’s no denying the supremacy of Carson Wentz. However, his inconsistency has seen him change three teams in the last three seasons. Even if Taylor Heinicke were to step up as QB1, he has a lot to improvise on to permanently usurp  Wentz. However, this result is a big boost for Commanders‘ fans.
