Though the 25-year-old might have been perfect in his athleticism, he was not all perfect for a quarterback, or at least that’s what his measurements revealed during his 2020 NFL Combine. The first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft excelled in every aspect of the sport except for his hand span.
Joe Burrow joked to get retired because of his tiny hands
The Heisman Trophy winner was informed that he measured a nine-inch hand span i.e. from thumb to pinkie, which is considered small for a quarterback. The LSU standout then took to Twitter to express his concern.
“Considering retirement after I was informed the football will be slipping out of my tiny hands. Please keep me in your thoughts,” he jokingly tweeted.
However, in reply to that the Kansas City superstar Patrick Mahomes replied, “My small hands are doing alright so far….i believe in ya.” Coincidentally, the youngster rose to fame against his believer, Mahomes itself.

Joey did not do well that year in his debut season with the Bengals. He picked up a season-ending ACL and MCL injury in his Week 11 game against the Washington Football Team. The Bengals finished with a meager 4-11-1 record in the 2020 regular season.
However, Burrow did not lose hope and helped the Bengals clinch their first Super Bowl berth in 33 years and their first playoff win in 31 years. It was a pretty huge feat achieved by the Bengals with the likes of Joe Burrow. Though having relatively smaller hands compared to other quarterbacks, he has become the next big thing in the league.
Will the Bengals be able to run it back next year and clinch their second consecutive Super Bowl berth? If so, which team do you believe would make it from the NFC? Let us know in the comments below!
