Over the past couple of weeks, Tom Brady has found himself on the news for mostly the wrong reasons. Suffice to say, he has had an eventful first few weeks in Tampa, Florida.

Luckily, the NFL opted to let him get away with a small warning. This is in spite of two public misadventures. Last week, local authorities caught him performing a public park workout. Suffice to say, they shepherded him out immediately. This time, he got lost during a trip to meet his new offensive coordinator,.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Brady’s recent visit to Byron Leftwich’s house did not violate the league’s offseason work rules.

NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy told Pelissero that Brady was simply making an informal visit and picked up the playbook. Obviously, other teams complained to the league office, since Brady’s visit took place during the “dead period”.

Apparently, it was a wasted effort on Brady’s part since he wound up in the wrong house. As mentioned before, the authorities forced Tom Brady to leave the public park. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, all parks are closed and Brady was clearly flouting the rules.

According to Tampa mayor Jane Castor, park staff stumbled across Brady during a patrol. Their job was to check if residents were following Florida’s stay at home orders.

“I got to tell you this story, too. Now, I always tell people, I’m not one to gossip so you didn’t hear this from me,” Castor said during a Facebook Live appearance. “Our parks are closed down, so a lot of our parks staff they patrol around just to make sure that people aren’t doing contact sports and things like that, and saw an individual working out in one of our downtown parks. And she went over to tell him that it was closed and it was Tom Brady.”

Admittedly, Florida has permitted outdoor exercise, as long as people are under the stay at home order. However, many public areas are closed, including parks and beaches. Luckily, some Florida beaches have reopened, but Tampa’s beaches are still closed to the public.
