Since getting associated with Jackson State in 2020, the pro-football Hall of Famer changed its landscape and established a new perspective of fans towards HBCUs. He chose talent and community over money because getting high-profile coaches like Sanders isn’t an easy task.

He led the Tigers to win back-to-back conference championships and registered an incredible 27-5 record during his tenure with the team. Another significant move from his side came recently after he made his decision to quit Jackson State and pick up a new job in Colorado.

Per reports, Sanders is subject to pay around $300,000 for breaching his contract and leaving the side before 2024. Regardless of whatever the circumstances are, the 55-year-old called this move a “call from God” and seemed thrilled to get associated with one of the poor-performing teams in 2022.

Certainly, his arrival will uplift the willpower and confidence of the players, something that he mentioned in his first press conference. “It is my job and my occupation and my business, and my dream, to bring you back to where you know you should belong,” Sanders said on behalf of CU boosters.

“We’re going to have one of the best coaching staffs assembled, some of the best scouts, some of the best kids that we’re recruiting, (with) commitments already coming on the way as I speak,” he added. Well, it seems he had started the recruitment online, asking candidates to apply for the positions.
