The final investigation reports of Tua Tagovailoa and his injuries have been jointly released by the NFL and the players association. After a brief probe since the Week 3 instabilities, the quarterback was under close watch. He triggered more worries after experiencing a concussion in the next game against the Bengals.

Recently the final reports emerged with an update in the drafted protocols for the gross mortar instability. It also mentions that the medical staff thoroughly followed the routine check-up before bringing Tagovailoa back to the field.

“While the investigation determined that the team medical staff and unaffiliated medical professionals followed the steps of the Protocol as written, the NFL and NFLPA agree that the outcome, in this case, is not what was intended when the Protocols were drafted.” the report reads.

For a moment, it seemed like a concussion after the quarterback hit his head on the turf. He stumbled walking back to the position. But the management claimed that he suffered a hyperextended back, not a concussion. The passer also acknowledged this in the post-game press conference.

Meanwhile, the report also clarified that the physician and the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant did not examine Tagovailoa’s back; instead, they relied on previous reports. The most recent update in the protocols will aid the athletes even more.

It states that if in the future any player shows symptoms or exhibits abnormalities in controlling his body or wobbles his next steps, or distorts speech due to a neurological issue, then he won’t be able to return to the field. Hopefully, this limits the management’s reckless decisions and going harsh on players in the heat of the moment.

The Alabama product was slowly attaining fame in the league after exhibiting splendid gameplay in the first three weeks. However, fate seems to have other plans for this youngster. He was recently discharged from the hospital and is currently seeing outside specialists to have a second opinion.

Experts and legends of the game were alerting the quarterback to have a thorough examination. And he should make a wise decision about his future in the league. In the recent press conference ahead of the Week 5 clash, coach Mike McDaniel stated that Tagovailoa was on a tour visiting specialists.

“We’ll just take it from there, but happy that he’s, you know, you get to see him every day,” McDaniel said about the upcoming games in the absence of Tagovailoa. Well, further updates on the matter are yet to arrive; hopefully, everything ends well for the quarterback.
