Julio Jones is most likely on his way out of Atlanta. The former Pro Bowl wide receiver could be one of the many departures from the ATL as the Falcons look to solve their cap problems.

Jones is one of the best wide receivers in the league; however, the Falcons can no longer afford his contract, keeping the constraints on the salary cap in mind. With such developments, one NFL analyst believes the Los Angeles Rams should try to get Jones.

NFL analyst Peter Schrager spoke about Julio Jones. He believes that the Los Angeles Rams should try to go and trade for him. He understands that the Rams themselves have their own cap constraints, and almost no draft picks for the future.

“So if you were to trade the number one wide receiver, which team should be most aggressive? I go with a team whose entire ethos since their new head coach took over in 2016 has been aggressive. I think the Los Angeles Rams should go get Julio.

“They got no draft picks over the next 10 years, they don’t have any cap space at all. But this is what they do, this is their ethos, this is what their mantra has been.”

Julio Jones- A good fit for the Rams?

Schrager added that Jones’ best performances in the league were under wide receiver coach Raheem Morris. Morris helped elevate Jones to the Pro Bowl level.

Coincidentally, Morris just recently became the Defensive Coordinator for the Rams and could be the link. Schrager wouldn’t be surprised if he went to the franchise’s front office to convince them of the trade.

“Julio’s best seasons as a pro were in Atlanta in the middle of his career. His wide receivers coach during the time was Raheem Morris. Who is the new Defensive Coordinator for the LA Rams? Raheem Morris.

“Raheem Morris has been with Julio all this time in Atlanta the past 5 seasons. He could be the guy that bangs on the table and tells McVay, Les Snead, Kevin Demoff, and the guys, ‘Let’s go get him!’.”
