The Cleveland Browns are coming off a tough game against the Baltimore Ravens. Lamar Jackson led the Ravens to a late win with the scorecard reading 47-42.

But all hope is not lost for the Browns. They currently have a 9-4 record this season and have a good chance of making the Playoffs. The one standout player for the Browns was star quarterback Baker Mayfield.

NFL Analyst Marcus Spears spoke on ESPN’s Get Up about the Ravens-Browns game. He said, despite the loss, he took a lot away from Baker Mayfield’s performance.

“Offensively, let me make that caveat. When you look at what Baker Mayfield and this offense was able to do. For as good as his performance was, the ability to answer while going down 28-14 and being able to work themselves back into that game.”

Spears was impressed with how Mayfield played above his usual level of play. Additionally, he noted that this is the level the Browns coach wants him to play at.

“Baker Mayfield didn’t get overzealous, he didn’t press He took what the defense gave him. And Stefanski always wants Baker Mayfield to play like he played last night.

“Because it lends himself to being the franchise quarterback and playing really well. He answered questions for me last night.”

Baker Mayfield – clutch vs Ravens

Spears noted that Baker proved his clutch gene during the game last night, despite the loss for the Browns. “When you talk about pressure, when you talk about the ability to make plays when everything is on the line, the fourth-down scramble…

“All of these plays, it’s a culmination of a lot of things that Baker Mayfield was able to do last night. That for the first time, since I’ve been watching him, in big moments, he looked poised and as good as any quarterback in the league.

“So that answered questions.”

For Spears, he believes that the Browns can be unstoppable if Baker Mayfield continues to play at this level. “From an offensive standpoint, it’s going to be very hard to stop this football team.

“If Baker Mayfield can take care of the football, and I know the interception was catastrophic and you and point to that, but that is him pressing.

“But he got immediately away from that and brought this team back to actually give them the lead. Only thing is, superman was on the other side of the field.”

It remains to be seen how the Browns will reach the Playoffs. Despite the loss to the Ravens, Browns fans have much reason for optimism as the season draws to a close.
