The New York Giants enjoyed considerable success in the 2022 season. They finished the regular season with a 9-7-1 record, qualifying for the postseason for the first time since 2016. Back when Eli Manning was their QB, they won their last Super Bowl in 2012. They drafted Daniel Jones in 2019 to be Manning’s successor. Under new HC Brian Daboll, Jones was a key factor in improving the Giants’ offense from scoring 15.2 points per game in 2021 to 21.5 points per game in 2022.

This led to the franchise putting their faith in Jones, and signing a 4-year $160 million contract back in March. But despite the gradual progress of the team, there is still someone who does not put his faith in Daniel Jones and the Giants to continue their momentum in the 2023 season.

Are the New York Giants on the path of regression?

Fans of the Giants will look forward to seeing their team continue their successful momentum in the upcoming season of the NFL as well. Despite their ongoing distress with RB Saquon Barkley, who is looking for an agreeable deal with the franchise, the team has been able to instill a sense of belief into the fanbase after their breakout performance in 2022.

But according to journalist Jason Mcintyre, the Giants may just be on a path of regression despite a fruitful last season. In one of his recent videos, he stated that he is “not a believer in Daniel Jones”. He further went on to talk about how the introduction of a new HC and management was a surprise and how it led them to win “gimmicky games” last season. He then went on to compare the team’s last season run with his own tennis game played with a friend, ending by stating that he sees, “a world where New York Giants finish last in the division. More realistically, it will be third,” and not make it to the playoffs.

This fan criticized Mcintyre back, stating, “This dude just doesn’t move the needle. I’m sure he works hard and is a nice guy but man.. Yuck”
