The New York Jets are facing a challenging season. Following their Week 1 setback and the potential season-ending injury to Aaron Rodgers, the team’s prospects appear uncertain. Despite winning both of their games this season, the team has struggled, raising concerns about their performance. It appears that the team may have lost momentum after Rodgers’ departure, reverting to their 2022 form.
However, their upcoming matchup against the New England Patriots, which is 0-2 so far this season, is crucial not only to maintain their winning streak this season but also to break a longstanding streak of defeats against the Patriots. Moreover, unfortunately, the latest injury report doesn’t seem to bode well for their chances.

Robert Saleh’s New York Jets, led by Zach Wilson, have released their injury report ahead of their Week 3 matchup against the Patriots at MetLife Stadium. The report highlights concerns surrounding eight players. These include Tony Adams (hamstring), Duane Brown (shoulder-hip), John Franklin-Myers (hip), Greg Zuerlein (groin), and Michael Carter II (elbow).
Besides them, Mekhi Becton, Breece Hall, and Quincy Williams are suffering from knee injuries. These players either did not participate in practice or were limited participants in preparation for the Week 3 game.
Meanwhile, the New England Patriots also have eight players dealing with injuries, including Sidy Sow, Marcus Jones, Christian Barmore, DeVante Parker, G Cole Strange, Jonathan Jones, and Mike Onwenu. However, they hold the advantage of a winning streak against the Jets dating back to 2015.

It’s worth noting that the last time the Jets managed to defeat New England was in an overtime thriller, winning with a score of 26-20 on December 27, 2015. Since then, they have endured eight straight seasons and 14 consecutive losses against the Patriots. Breaking this losing streak record of eight years is on the line if they secure a victory in the upcoming Sunday afternoon game.
When questioned about the Jets’ historical struggles against Bill Belichick‘s team, Jets coach Robert Saleh emphasized that he is not dwelling on the past. The 44-year-old coach stated, “I get it, we acknowledge [the losing streak], but at the same time, it doesn’t define this group today, with the group that we have, 2023 Jets…We gotta focus on the moment. I get what happened in the past… But dwelling on the past takes away from what we can do now.”
