According to Mike Garofolo, the Giants’ punter is in London sorting out issues with his passport. Although the team expects him to be stateside by Thursday, the Big Blue will be looking to work out replacement punters. Just in case things don’t go according to plan. Jamie Gillan is a Scottish national who moved to the United States as a teenager. Unpicked in the 2019 NFL Draft, he signed with the Cleveland Browns. After 3 seasons with the Browns, and a brief spell with the Buffalo Bills practice squad, he joined the New York Giants. With 177 punts for 8,069 yards in 49 games, Gillan is on a decent career spell. Especially this season, with 21 punts for 1,070 yards, it is a career-high 51 yards-per-punt for him. More importantly, the Giants will want to have Gillan on the team as they face their toughest opponents yet this Sunday: the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens may have a poorer record, but they have already defeated last year’s Super Bowl runner-up, the Cincinnati Bengals. And they put up a staunch fight against the Buffalo Bills. Which is one of the best teams in the league right now.
