Things are currently going really well for New Orleans Saints. They are at present in a four-game winning streak and also reduced the gap between Tampa Bay and themselves in the NFC South standings. Unfortunately, nothing is perfect, not even this short period of prosperity for the Saints. Jameis Winston is out for the season.

While the Saints had an insane game against the Buccaneers, the game was surely a physical bout. Owing to the physical nature of the match, there were casualties on both sides. Unfortunately, the Saints received the biggest blow with quarterback Jameis Winston suffering a season-ending ACL injury. Luckily for the Saints, they have an able replacement in Taysom Hill who looks to be back in match fitness.

Jameis Winston suffers season-ending ACL injury

The New Orleans Saints‘ quarterback, Jameis Winston, is all set to miss the rest of the 2021 season. During last week’s bout against NFC South divisional toppers Tampa Bay, Winston tore his ACL and also suffered damages to his MCL, head coach Sean Payton confirmed. The play leading to the injury occurred early in the second quarter.

Winston, to evade being sacked, stepped up in the pocket. Unfortunately, he lost his body balance, and soon after, Devin White pounced on him, resulting in Winston falling to the turf while awkwardly twisting his left knee. Despite the awkward landing, the quarterback somehow stood up with the help of his teammates. Unfortunately, he couldn’t last longer than 5 steps as he fell back on the turf and had to be taken off.
