NFL franchise New England Patriots backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham will be taking his talents to test his luck in Vegas in 2022. The franchise will be moving on from a player, who joined to take over from legendary QB Tom Brady in 2020. Stidham has been a bench-warmer for the Patriots in recent seasons after failing to live up to the billing in Boston.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the franchisee will be trading him and a 7th-round pick to the Raiders while receiving a 6th-round pick. A former 4th-round pick, Stidham will be leaving after only attempting 48 career pass attempts during his 2-year stay.
It seems the backup QB was fed up by the lack of opportunities with the Patriots as they build around QB Mac Jones.

His exit became even clearer after the Patriots selected Western Kentucky QB Bailey Zappe with their 4th round pick this year. Zappe seems to be the young and developing prospect like Stidham, who seems to be a failed experiment under head coach Bill Belichick. Stidham will also be joining a team with a familiar face in former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniel from his time in Boston to help adapt to his new team.
Can the New England Patriots return to their former glory under Belichick?
The NFL schedule release gives fans more information about how the team still has the intrigue and the pull among NFL fans. The glory years under QB Tom Brady have become a thing of the past as they attempt to usher in a new era with Mac Jones. They will be taking part in 5 prime-time games in 2022, where they hope to show how good they can become.
Last season was a clear reflection of the potential that the Patriots possess and also the concerns regarding their second-half season capitulation. Belichick was able to make his magic work in 2021 as his team ranked 4th among the top defenses in the NFL.
While they finished with a 10-7 record, the team will look to go deeper in the playoffs in the upcoming season.
