Ever since Tom Brady left the New England Patriots, the former Super Bowls have been undergoing a rebuild. From replacing Tom Brady with Mac Jones to removing the deadwood from the squad, the Bill Belichick led side has been focusing on building the side with a young core. It looks like 26-year-old cornerback JC Jackson is the next in line for a contract extension.

JC Jackson would “love playing for the New England Patriots”; says he has “grown as a football player”
For a New England Patriots side that has been on the lookout for team building for the past years, letting go of a talent like Jackson would be a colossal waste. The 26-year-old cornerback, who will soon be a free agent this March, has age on his side. Moreover, there is no in-house replacement for Jackson, which makes extending his contract even more important.
Luckily for the Patriots, the player himself wants to commit his future with the team. He enjoys playing under Bill Belichick and believes that he has grown a lot under the coach. “I love playing for the New England Patriots, playing under Coach Belichick,” said the cornerback. “I have grown as a football player since I’ve been here… It’s a place that gave me a chance from Day 1. I would love to be a New England Patriot for a long time.”

Patriots cornerback Jackson is presently leading the AFC cornerback Pro Bowl voting, with 23 interceptions, the most in the league since 2018. If Jackson stays healthy, he may land a huge contract, but he says he’s not thinking about that right now. According to the player, the agent and not the player should deal such matters. His job is to play.
“I’m a football player, I’m not an agent,” Jackson said. “So when it comes to negotiating contracts, I’ll leave that up to my agent. I’ll let them deal with that stuff and I’ll just focus on football. That’s how I look at it. That’s how I control the situation.”
It is certainly a cheerful sight seeing players enjoying and sticking with their current teams than chasing money. The ball is in your court, Patriots!
