A new era for the New England Patriots began after Bill Belichick decided to select Tom Brady in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft. The franchise soon became a dynasty throned by Brady at the helm. They ruled for nearly two decades, and Tom Brady Sr. affirms that he knows what it’s like for the New England haters, a similar feeling he had a few years ago against the LA Rams and Dallas Cowboys.

Tom Brady Sr. was the man behind encouraging one of the great talents in the history of pro football to pursue the sport seriously. While speaking in an interview, Brady’s father opened his heart about football fantasies and revealed that the San Francisco 49ers were his favorite team.

However, he always had a grudge against the Rams for defeating his team in 18 out of the 20 games they played in the 70s. Since then, he despised the entire franchise, right from their jerseys and helmets to their players.

” I was a 49ers fan back in the 50s with Frankie Albert, and then John Brady and Joe Montana. But I remember in the 70s the Rams beat us 18 times 20 times playing,” Brady Sr said on the show. “I never wanted to see a Rams uniform. I hated the horns on their helmets, I hated their blue and yellow uniforms. So I understand the sentiment that people have with having the Patriots win.” he explained.

Brady Sr. also mentioned that the Cowboys were similar to the Rams of the 70s, and he disliked the team. Whether it be their stars or costumes, the father of the GOAT couldn’t assimilate their deal.

But Tom’s entry into the gridiron changed it all. Brady Sr. had a special place for the Patriots and pride that his son played as the quarterback, scripting history every time he took on the field.

Tom Brady comes from an athletic background. His three elder sisters, all of them were Soft ball aces. This motivated him to be a much better player and pursue his game seriously. His father revealed that he had tried everything, starting from ballet, guitar, and piano, but every time his four children got inclined towards sports.

So he allowed them to go their way and never stopped them from taking risks. He takes the credit for challenging them right from the beginning, especially Brady from childhood till this date. His father has always been a source of motivation.

“My fault… I started it. Everything we did, and I mean everything, like running home from church, throwing a rock the farthest… Everything was a competition. I guess it made things really fun, at least for the winner.” Brady Sr. says. Well, this might also be the reason why Tom Brady is defying the odds and proving himself to be a worthy quarterback at 45.
