Ever since Tom Brady hung up his cleats earlier this month, Bruce Arians has a big void to fill in. And it is no ordinary void. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers need the closest option available to a seven-time Super Bowl champion. Could it be Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson? But Arians is looking for a replacement in his own backyard.
With that being said, the only player that comes to mind is Kyle Trask who still has a one-year contract left with the Bucs. Or he could also offer the former Bucs first overall pick, Jameis Winston, a return offer. However, the Bucs roster is deeper than expected, since Arians also has the option of Blaine Gabbert to explore.

Bruce Arians on the replacement of Tom Brady
“People may not like the overall record, but Blaine had eight head coaches and eight coordinators his first eight years,” Arians said. “He beat Jacksonville their best year and beat Tennessee their big year for us in Arizona. And he’s been in the system now. I don’t have a problem there and let Kyle continue to grow. Either one. (Gabbert) has never played with a team this good. He’s got all the respect in the locker room that he can have.”

Blaine was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 when he was in his eighth year in the NFL. He was the 10th overall pick for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011. After spending three seasons with the Jaguars, Blaine donned the red shirts of the 49ers and the Cardinals for the next four seasons. Gabbert hasn’t started a game since 2018 with the Tennessee Titans.
The 32-year-old is set to be a free agent this offseason, and it is just a matter of time for Arians to discuss his future as Brady’s replacement. However, judging by his unsatisfactory 13-35 record as a starter, it’s highly doubted that he would be able to fill in the shoes of Tom Brady.
