It is not often that NFL running backs are in contention to challenge for the league MVP title. But Tennessee Titans superstar, Derrick Henry, was part of that conversation in 2020. The swashbuckling speedster is an absolute monster on the football field.
He was a key component of coach Mike Vrabel’s deadly offense last season. Dubbed ‘King Henry’, Derrick was single-handedly terrorizing NFL defenses over the course of the 2020 NFL season. He concluded the 2020 NFL season with 2,027 rushing yards and 17 rushing TDs.
His performances in the middle saw him join the NFL MVP conversation along with Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, and eventual winner Aaron Rodgers. Had the Titans mounted a deeper playoff run, Henry would have had a better shot at winning what would have been his first MVP trophy.
