An outstanding athlete is not only recognized by his talent for the sport they play. Outstanding athletes are also recognized for the way they treat their teammates and the people that surround them. While some athletes may be great with their skills, their attitude toward their teammates and fans may speak of a completely different story.
One such athlete was the enigmatic NBA player Michael Jordan. Despite being one of the greatest basketball players. Jordan did not win the seal of approval from his teammates. On the other hand, when it comes to the NFL, QB great Patrick Mahomes comes off as the complete opposite of Jordan in the NBA.

Unlike his NBA counterpart, Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is slowly making his way as the next GOAT of the game. With 2 Super Bowls already to his name, Mahomes will be looking forward to creating a legacy like the one Tom Brady has created in the league. And with his exceptional talent comes his great relationship with his teammates at the Chiefs kingdom.
During a recent press interview at the offseason training, he was questioned about his approachability while comparing it to Michael Jordan. To this Patrick Mahomes said that he “grew up in a locker room, so I got to see both sides of it.” He talked about how, apart from his game, he also focuses on building a relationship with his teammates. Mahomes said, “I think that’s part of the culture that I brought into here. It’s really cool cause then you get to go out there and see success, you get to go to parade and it’s guys that you truly enjoy being around and having success with.”’

While Mahomes may be a friendly guy on and off the field, his counterpart Michael Jordan, with whom he was compared, does not hold the award for the most approachable guy in the locker room.
Michael Jordan had the focus only on winning
During his basketball days, Michael Jordan was not the friendliest player on the field. Even his own teammates did not find him to be an approachable guy in the locker room. During an episode of The Last Dance, MJ said that his “mentality was to go out and win, at any cost.” His former teammate, Will Perdue said while talking about practicing with Jordan, “Let’s not get it wrong. He was an a**hole. And was a jerk. He crossed the line numerous times.” But in the end, even he agreed that, though harsh, Jordan’s leadership style produced results, winning six championships altogether in the NBA.
