Sports matchups lead to rivalries. And rivalries lead to competitiveness. Apart from the players participating in these matchups, families, and fans of these players also turn up the heat by battling it out on the sidelines. But sometimes, because of the competition, they turn into trash talk, which may cross the threshold of the friendly competitive spirit of any game.
One such incident could be seen in a recent NBA matchup between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Nuggets are just one win away from making their first NBA finals appearance. And the heat of the game caught up, leading the brothers of a Nuggets player to engage in trash talks with Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson. So what went down?

Nuggets player Nikola Jokic is a humble beast. His dedication and development over the years have led to fans put their hopes in him and a team of veterans to consider the Nuggets the favorites to win their first NBA title. He commandeered the Nuggets against the Lakers in their game 3 matchups, clinching an impressive late win with a scoreline of 108-119. Like himself, his brothers also ended up in the spotlight. And not because of their humility, but because of getting carried away in trash-talking with their opponents.

In a clip going viral on Twitter that was shared by NBA on ESPN, we see Strahinja and Nemanja Jokic, brothers to the Nuggets star, engaging with Jack Nicholson. The 86-year-old star was present to show his support for the Lakers. After the match, while Nicholson was making his way out, we see the two brothers making heated gestures about the loss. We hear the eldest brother Strahinja say, “See you next year” to Nicholson while waving him goodbye aggressively from the stands.
Some fans could see an eerily similar connection to the NFL. Someone who is also the brother of a famous NFL star. It is none other than the controversial Jackson Mahomes. He is the brother to 2x Super Bowl MVP champion and Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. Last year, Jackson Mahomes poured a bottle of water on the Baltimore Ravens fans after the Chiefs lost the game against the Ravens. This led to the paparazzi questioning the QB about his brother’s behavior. And this is not the only time Jackson Mahomes has irked fans, as he has been in countless altercations with fans during his brother’s games in the NFL. And this led to the Jokic brothers being compared to the antics of the younger Mahomes.
Jokic brothers acting like Jackson Mahomes?
After the NBA clip went viral, many fans compared the situation with Jackson Mahomes while commenting on the tweet. But not everybody agreed with the comparison, as some also questioned the similarities in place.
These fans could see a clear connection between Jackson Mahomes and the brothers.
They obviously horny for attention, just like Jackson.

This is starting to feel like a Mahomes situation. Cool and quiet superstar with family members that can be a bit obnoxious. This is objectively unlikeable stuff lol

The Jokic brothers are slightly lesser than Jackson Mahomes on the celebrity brother level annoyance.
You don’t heckle Jack F’ng Nicholson. https://t.co/sT9f6d8Zwe

While some believed there was more to what meets the eye, some fans were quick to shoot down the comparisons.
Horrible take

What do you think? Did the Jokic brothers turn it up Jackson-style or was that interaction much too mild to be compared with the Tiktoker’s infamous antics?
