Patrick Mahomes Squares Up With Mexican Diamond, Hours After Proving Michael Jordan Effect

The Super Bowl of celebrity golf is in full swing! And we have quite the attendance this year as well. Super Bowl LVII winners Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are also a part of the lineup of over 80 sports icons and celebrities. And recently, it looks like NBA Stephen Curry is out for redemption in the ACC championship, after his upset loss in Capital One’s: The Match. His amazing hole-in-one shot has created a roar in the tournament, with even his The Match rival Mahomes showing up with praise on social media.

But while Patrick Mahomes will be looking forward to improving from his 51st placement in last year’s tournament, he had a pretty interesting moment on the golf course. And this moment involved a pro-Mexican boxer, who is known for his vicious knockouts in the ring.

Patrick Mahomes tried to go head-on with Canelo Alvarez

Golfing seems to be a newfound passion for the 27-year-old QB of the Kansas City Chiefs. The ACC championship marks the third golf event that Mahomes has been a part of, apart from the Aloha Golf Classic and The Match. But the QB has a one of its kind interaction at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course with Mexican boxing star Canelo Alvarez. 

In a tweet shared by Patrick Mahomes, we see the 27-year-old getting ready to square up with the 32-year-old veteran boxer. The clip shows Alvarez warming up with some footwork and jabs. And later on in the clip, we see the 2X Super Bowl QB enter from the side, inching closer to Alvarez before deciding to back up. Canelo Alvarez is a boxing prodigy, with 17 world titles under his belt in four different weight classes. So backing off may have been the best decision by Patrick Mahomes, who hilariously captioned the tweet, “Y’all saw how far away I was🤣🤣.”

While boxing may not be the QB’s strongest skill, he left fans dumbfounded with his basketball talents, which even NBA legend Michael Jordan would approve of.

Recently, the 27-year-old took to Instagram to share a jaw-dropping story. In the story, we see Mahomes making a long-shot basket on the first try. This left the crowd present going into a  thunderous cheer, as they were definitely amazed by the QB’s basketball skills. Not only this, even his NFL acquaintance, Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen, followed up to do the same. Allen first did not believe that Mahomes made the shot on his first try. But much to his own amazement, even he was successful in making the basket in his first shot itself. Michael Jordan would definitely approve of these great shots. 

As the tournament carries on until the 17th of July, it will be interesting to see who emerges as the champion at the top.
