“I’m just glad he’s still alive, and he’s able to fight. And trying to get better and recover. I just want to show my gratitude to the medical staff. If not for them, my nephew probably wouldn’t be here,” Damar’s uncle Dorrian Glenn told CNN reporters outside the UC Medical Center. Dorian had previously told CNN that Damar had to be resuscitated twice. However, a family spokesperson has since confirmed that Hamlin received CPR only once.
Damar Hamlin remains on ventilator support, lying face down, to help blood and oxygen circulation for his damaged lungs. However, Glenn said that his nephew’s health was “trending upwards in a positive way.”

Dorrian Glenn travelled more than 300 miles to be by his nephew’s side from his home in Pittsburgh, where was enjoying some MNF action with extended family. And to the horror and shock of everyone present, the game was stopped because of the horrific tragedy.
“I’m not a crier, but I’ve never cried so hard in my life. Just to know my nephew basically died on the field and they brought him back to life. It’s just heartbreaking. To see all those grown men crying and the emotion. It really was a gut punch,” Glenn added.
