Tom Brady’s reported closeness to former President Donald Trump has made headlines now and then for some years. Ever since the ‘Make America Great Again’ hat popped up in Brady’s locker in 2015. Although Brady has always denied and deflected rumors about his closeness with Trump, almost always, someone or the other pokes it up back again. And it seems, history is likely to repeat itself, after Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump, mentioned the 45-year-old QB and the former President in the same sentence.

In a clip going viral online, Eric Trump said his father and the 7x Super Bowl winner are not the same. He said, “My father fought for this country. Tom Brady always fought and played for his team. My father’s playing for Team America.” Although it is unclear what exactly triggered such a response, the aftermath of Eric Trump mentioning the two together, and his statement itself, is quite predictable.

Twitter users did not take kindly to Eric Trump’s statement about his father. While it is not clear under what circumstance Eric Trump said his father “fought for this country”, users were angry nevertheless. Akin to when TB12 compared playing in the NFL to being deployed, users slammed Eric Trump for his poor choice of words.

#CadetBoneSpurs was a draft dodger who somehow ended up in the Oval Office! He fawned over America’s adversaries, lied about a deadly virus & his election loss, Incited an Insurrection, & stole Classified documents which he refuses to return! He’s not playing for Team America!

Tom Brady – Donald Trump relationship: questioned since time immemorial
Reports suggest Tom Brady and Donald Trump have been quite familiar with each other since 2001. The duo often played golf together, and apparently is (or was) one of their biggest bonding factors. Brady even confirmed that Trump was a friend to him before the 2014 elections. Brady more or less confirmed the same during an interview with ‘WEEI’ long ago.

“Donald is a good friend of mine,” he said. “I have known him for a long time…. he’s always been so supportive of me – for the last 15 years, since I judged a beauty pageant for him, which was one of the very first things that I did that thought was really cool… he’s always invited me to play golf,” he added.

These days, Brady claims his relationship with Trump is non-existent. “I haven’t talked to him in a lot of years,” Brady told ‘Variety’. “I think [the press] just mis-characterized a lot. And my personality isn’t ever one to insult anybody. I have plenty of my own flaws. I’m not here to point out anyone else’s flaws,” he added. What do you think about TB12 and Trump’s present relations?
