‘My Confidence In Myself Hasn’t Really Changed’: Joe Burrow Opens Up On Leading Bengals to Super Bowl After Returning from ACL Injury

Joe Burrow is on his way to the SoFi Stadium after a year-long battle against the other teams and himself. The youngster has committed himself to the sport and brought the lowly Cincinnati Bengals right to the top. His race from the bottom to the top in just one season has really made him shine in the NFL, while the fans are now going crazy about his style and athleticism.

Burrow is arguably the most likable quarterback in the league, who has helped the Cincinnati Bengals clinch the Super Bowl for the first time since 1989 while being in his second season as a starter. His composed and confident demeanor has really caught the eye of many. Which has now become the signature style of the 25-year-old quarterback.

The Cincy QB, though had a flop debut season due to a season-ending ACL injury last year; left no stones unturned to excel this time. He helped the Bengals top the AFC North division and clinch a playoff spot as a fourth-seeded team. While his postseason has been magical so far.

The young star appeared in the Let’s Go! Podcast with Tom Brady for the first time on Monday. Jim Gray, the host of the podcast took little time to ask the quarterback as to how his confidence has shaped throughout the course of this one year; particularly his journey from a season-ending knee injury to the Super Bowl.

“My confidence in myself hasn’t really changed,” Burrow replied. “I would say, my confidence in my body being able to physically do the things that I needed to, you know, win games, has kind of changed throughout the year.”

“At the beginning of the year, I was basically eight months out from my surgery,” he added. “I wasn’t quite making as many plays as I had in the past with my legs, and so I kind of had to rethink the way I was playing early in the year and trying to, you know, play more in the pocket within the structure of the offense.”

The Super Bowl is going to be a big event of his career, and to do it while struggling from a knee injury is extraordinary. However, he needs to be extra cautious with his knee while going against the Rams. The SoFi hosts have a remarkable defense that has spared no one and will clearly not spare Burrow too.
