This year’s draft batch brings with it some elite quarterbacks like Bryce Young and CJ Stroud. However, Florida’s Anthony Richardson may have just secured his spot as the top prospect after putting on a show at his Alma Mater’s Pro Day yesterday. And it wasn’t just football that Richardson excelled at, with the 6-foot-4 244 lbs passer displaying his 10/10 gymnastics skills.
Fans were pleading with their respective franchise owners and GMs to sign the Gainesville quarterback after he impressed multiple NFL team representatives with his mind-boggling arm strength, even hitting the ceiling of the indoor facility he was throwing in.

Richardson already became a household name after his record-shattering workout at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last month. Anthony set the Combine records with his 10 feet, 9 inches broad jump and a 40.5 inches vertical jump. And with Seattle Seahawks HC Pete Carroll, Carolina’s Frank Reich, and ex-Lombardi-winning Jaguars HC Doug Pederson present at the Florida Pro Day, Richardson only added to his already impressive resume.
Anthony’s arm strength was on full display as the 20-year-old threw around 45 dimes in total, one of them astonishingly turning out to be an overthrow despite the receiver being 70 yards away. On one particular deep ball, the passer’s throw banged against the facility ceiling to the amazement of those watching. Richardson later confirmed that it was intentional in response to Kentucky’s Will Levis doing it previously.

However, despite the stellar accuracy in throwing, the top Pro Day workout highlight had to be when Anthony jogged onto the Florida Gators logo in the midfield and executed a flawless backflip. He had tried one previously during the Scouting Combine but failed to nail the landing that time. Not anymore, as Richardson seems to have worked on his flexibility since.
Richardson’s freak workout leaves fans speechless
Despite the amazing display of talent in back-to-back workouts, the footballing community still remembers Florida losing to Vanderbilt last year in a 6-7 losing season for Richardson. Some fans think his audition performance is not going to carry forward into his on-field NFL career.
“This is the guy that lost to Vandy. Stop hyping him up,” one fan commented. “If backflips got you drafted, the NFL would be scouting at gymnastics competitions,” another wrote.

However, the response otherwise was overwhelming for Anthony. Fans begged their franchises to acquire him on draft day. “If he there at 19 take him, Jason Licht,” one Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan urged his GM to name Anthony Richardson as Tom Brady’s successor. “Come on Detroit,” a Lions fan commented. “The most yolked QB in the NFL next season,” one fan summarized things perfectly.
The Carolina Panthers have the no 1 pick in this year’s NFL draft. And after having spent considerable time with all the top QB prospects in the last month, David stepper’s organization may lean slightly in favor of Richardson after this week’s Pro Day excellence.
