Deion Sanders‘ college football season opener has caused quite a stir in the sports world. The face-off between CU and TCU took place last Saturday, with the Buffaloes winning 44-42, no thanks to Sanders’ son, Shedeur, who excelled on the gridiron. His remarkable 510-yard passing performance also set a new team record, giving the season an exciting start. Surprisingly, this game has sparked a trend in college football, with the 21-year-old QB now earning more than the Bengals‘ Joe Burrow.
As Burrow enters his final year as a rookie, there’s talk of him getting a contract extension with the team, which experts believe might even surpass Justin Herbert’s deal. Nevertheless, Coach Prime’s son is on track to outshine them both in an unexpected twist.

After their stunning triumph against TCU, the 21-year-old QB has everyone talking. Experts are even projecting that Shedeur might even be a solid contender for the Heisman, and is set to make big bucks through NIL deals. Rick Eisen discussed all of this on his show after spotting the info on Twitter via NFLRookieWatch. According to the tweet, Shedeur is now projected to rake in $3.8 million through NIL this season.
This eye-popping figure is a massive jump of $2.5 million from before the TCU bout, which is about a 192% increase. Eisen went on to read the tweet out loud and pointed out that this youngster’s projected earnings were $2 million more than Dak Prescott‘s base salary and nearly $3 million more than Joe Burrow’s. The crew had a good laugh in surprise because Shedeur’s earnings are now leaving behind top-tier NFL athletes. However, Eisen made it clear that this was just the base salary, without all the extra goodies, which an NFL athlete is accustomed to.
Still, $3.8 million is a whole lot of money, and it might even grow more if Coach Prime works his magic in the upcoming games.

CU’s insane upset over TCU!
Since Sanders took over in Colorado, there’s been a lot of talk about his unique methods and how he’s impacting the team. But the 2x Super Bowl champ has just silenced the naysayers with this insane victory. What’s more, Colorado was projected to be near the bottom of the list in the Pac-12 this season. However, they shined on the field, especially with Shedeur excelling. And let’s not forget Dylan Edwards, Shedeur’s trusted target, who scored a whopping three touchdowns. Additionally, Travis Hunter, who also came from Jackson State, played both offense and defense, making 11 catches and a crucial interception.
The excitement is palpable, and the fans finally have found a ray of light. Last season, the team only won one game, but this strong start is putting them in serious contention. CU is going up against Nebraska and CO State in the coming weeks, and the fans are already pumped up for it.
