Retired QB Tom Brady is the undoubted GOAT of the NFL. With 7 Super Bowl championships under his name, Brady has set himself as a prime example for QBs of the future in the league. He won his seventh and last Super Bowl ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, after joining the team in 2020. But there was a chance that Tom Brady could have extended that record to eight Super Bowl rings, had the unfortunate events with Antonio Brown not happened during his short stint with the New England Patriots.

If AB had remained with the team, would the 7X Super Bowl QB manage to lead the Patriots to consecutive Super Bowl rings? Hollywood star Ben Affleck feels that would have just been the case.

Once, during an interview with ESPN for Get Up, Hollywood actor Ben Affleck was asked about whether Tom Brady will stay with the Patriots after becoming a free agent in 2020. He believed that if Antonio Brown was not cut off from the team after playing just one game, then maybe Brady could have won the Super Bowl LIV. But AB played only one game in the Patriots uniform, as he was cut from the team due to an ongoing sexual allegation investigation going on against him in the NFL.

Ben Affleck said that the Patriots were,”definitely an Antonio Brown away from winning the Super Bowl game.” And it may be somewhat true because even if AB just appeared in one game for the Bucs, he made an immediate impact on the game against the Miami Dolphins. In that single game, the WR caught four balls for 56 yards and a touchdown.

But that was not the last time Tom Brady paired with AB on the field. The duo came back together again for the Bucs after signing a contract in 2020.

Brady and AB won a Super Bowl with the Bucs

With the Bucs, Tom Brady and Antonio Brown did, in fact, win a Super Bowl. They went on to win the Super Bowl LV against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021. But it seemed that controversy followed AB everywhere he went. The Bucs was AB’s last pit-stop before he left the NFL for good. The Buccaneers decided to cut off Antonio Brown from their team after he infamously stormed out of the field mid-game, removing his jersey and gear. Since that day, the WR has not returned to the game and continued with different careers, including a music career and most recently being the owner of the Albany Empire. But even at Albany, AB’s controversial lifestyle still continues, as he was allegedly accused of not paying the players and locking them out of their hotel rooms.
