Even before he departed from Arizona Cardinals back in May, Hopkins was linked with several teams including Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, and Kansas City Chiefs. Much of the buzz has been about Hopkins joining the  Chiefs and catching passes from Patrick Mahomes.

Speculations even broke out that the 10-year veteran is reportedly waiting for Kansas City to free up cap space through Chris Jones’ contract extension so that the team can accommodate him. The rumors were fueled when very recently an exchange transpired between the Chiefs’ defensive tackle and DHop on Instagram hinting at the wideout’s potential interest to team up with Super Bowl champions.

I’ll never get that with some athletes. Was it really money when you already have a lot of money? Tennessee is WR purgatory… we won’t hear much from him for a while. His choice., another did not hide their disappointment.

A tweet read, ”I guess he really didn’t wanna play with a contender or have a chance at getting a ring. Have fun playing with a below-average QB”.

”He’s just going there to lose. What a disappointment. Forget making the Super Bowl, he may not make it out of that division”, another user exclaimed.
