There is no mold that can fit Mike McDaniel perfectly. The Miami Dolphins head always likes to break free from the formal norms of the NFL. He was the one who allegedly vaped on the sidelines during a Dolphins game last season. His press interactions can also take a hilarious turn sometimes. That is exactly what happened when McDaniel learned about the potential record sale of the Washington Commanders franchise.

McDaniel has worked for the Commanders back in the day and knows the inner functioning of the franchise. And he had an epic reply ready about the $4.65 billion+ price tag for the organization.

Mike McDaniel has a habit of making light-hearted jokes about almost anything. He did not disappoint when the question of the $4.65 billion+ price tag of the Commanders came up during a press interaction. In fact, he took a sly dig at the franchise, remembering the time he worked with the organization.

“Wow, the organization is worth that much? And I couldn’t get free coffee?” McDaniel asked during the NFL owners’ meet in Phoenix.

McDaniel worked with the franchise from 2011 to 2013 and is one of many young head coaches who came out of the franchise. The other notable names are Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, the San Francisco 49ers boss Kyle Shanahan, and the Los Angeles Rams‘ Super Bowl-winning HC Sean McVay.

Dan Snyder is looking to sell the Commanders franchise for a mammoth sum. According to reports, he will fetch more than what the Denver Broncos changed hands for. If that happens, it will be a new franchise sale record in the NFL.

The rumblings of a sale have gone on for months now at FedEx Field. Snyder hired Bank of America back in November for it after coming under fire for sexual harassment and financial misconduct at the Commanders. The lifelong Washington fan wants something in the region of $5-6 billion to part ways with his boyhood franchise.
