Winning seven Super Bowl rings is no easy feat. And winning your seventh at the age of 43 with a torn MCL just makes the feat even more impressive. But that’s exactly what Tom Brady did in 2020.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, who joined the franchise as a free agent in 2020, reportedly played the entirety of last season with a torn MCL. But it seems even age and injuries can’t stop Tom Brady from winning Super Bowls.

Emphatically winning Super Bowl LV by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9, Brady claimed his seventh ring and fifth Super Bowl MVP award.

Soon after the win though, Brady underwent surgery on his knee for what was first reported to be a minor clean-up. However, recent reports that have emerged suggest that Tom Brady underwent surgery to repair a torn MCL in his left knee.

Keeping the matter all hush-hush, Brady went about business as usual. While his teammates were aware that something was wrong, even they seem to have had no idea that Tom Brady was playing with a torn MCL.

“I knew he was hurt, hurt pretty bad,” Evans said. “But you know, he’s as tough as you’re going to get. He was battling. I didn’t know it was torn. But it speaks to as tough as a player he really is.”

With his knee now all patched up, Brady and the Buccaneers are looking to run it back in 2021. So has Mike Evans seen any difference in Tom Brady post-surgery? “I can’t see a difference, but he looks very springy and wiry right now,” he said.
