Dallas Cowboys rookie LB responded to DE DeMarcus Lawrence’s aim to regain his dominance in sacks in 2022. Lawrence had lamented losing the position to the LB Micah Parsons and said that he would get the position back.
Parson’s response was simple- there was no way Lawrence was getting it back from him. Cowboys reporter Jori Epstein posted a gif on her Twitter handle with Parson’s comment on the matter.

The verbal battle between the teammates shows how fiercely competitive the Cowboys are, not just with the opposition, but also among themselves.
What has happened between the two Dallas Cowboys players?
Before the 2021 season, Lawrence led in sacks in the Cowboys. But in 2021, he lost it to rookie linebacker Micah Parsons. In an interview, he stated that he “let a rookie show me up last year” and made his intention clear to get back the position when the 2022 season rolled around.

Lawrence mentioned his only goal for 2022 was to “Become the sack leader again… Shoutout to my boy, Micah (Parsons), but restate my dominance.”
The DE was confident that he could get back to the top of the sacks leaderboard. He stated, “Let everybody know that I’m coming… and the type of respect I’m going to demand when I step on that field.”

However, Parsons had the last word on the matter, as he had a fierce response to Lawrence’s claim.
Does Lawrence’s goal scare Parsons?
Apparently not. The rookie LB from 2021 is no longer a rookie and has an increasing belief in his abilities. He is not someone who would shy away from such a challenge. In fact, he has challenged Lawrence to get the record from him.

Parsons said he would be happy to compete with Lawrence for the position, which would lead to a healthy locker room rivalry. But he also added, “But sorry to tell him, he’s never getting that back.”
The LB said he wanted Lawrence to be at his best and increase his sacks, so Parsons himself could push himself harder. He said, “But if 10’s the number, I’m going for 20. You’ve just got to go out there and compete. It’s just going to be a race to the quarterback, like it or not. I’m excited.”
