There’s been a lot of talk about who might be the Miami Dolphins starting quarterback for 2021. With the embarrassment of riches they have in terms of draft picks and cap space heading into next season, the Dolphins franchise has several options to choose from.
The Dolphins already have a young QB in Tua Tagovailoa. But the most popular route among those involved trading for Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson. Watson’s desire to move on from the Texans franchise is well documented.
And many believe that the Dolphins are the ones in the best position to land the QB. But going by recent comments made by Miami Dolphins Head Coach Brian Flores, the franchise looks set to stick with Tua for 2021.

Miami Dolphins already have their QB1
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Flores talked about how despite all the speculation surrounding the role of starting QB, Tua remains their go-to man.
“I’m excited about Tua in this upcoming season. You think about his situation coming off the hip, threw him in the fire,” said Flores.
“He started nine games. He made a lot of improvement. Had some ups had some downs like any rookie. Excited for the jump from year one to two,” he added.
Tua of course had to make his debut under circumstances never before seen in the NFL. Playing through a season affected by COVID, Tua Tagovailoa impressed with his plays.

But the rookie was often switched around with veteran QB Ryan Fitzpatrick who seems to be headed towards free agency. With all responsibility now falling on Tua, Flores clearly believes his young quarterback has what it takes to lead the team’s offense.
Flores mentioned on how important he feels it is to develop a close relationship with his players to help guide their development. The Head Coach also said that the he and Tua talked about the upcoming season and the challenges that lie ahead of them.
