This draft season has been undeniably distinct from the rest. Prominent quarterbacks have been traded, and highly skilled wide receivers and running backs have been released simply because there were no viable trading partners in sight. DeAndre Hopkins, known for his exceptional on-field performances, faced an unexpected release from the Cardinals lately. Initially, there were murmurs about a potential collaboration among Patrick Mahomes, Hopkins, and the running back from the Vikings, who was also let go about a month ago.
However, it now seems highly likely as former Vikings, Dalvin Cook has already coined his choice for the upcoming season. So how does it look for the Chiefs this season, and could this turn out to be a bigger deal than it seems?

Even before his unexpected release from the Vikings, trade talks surrounding the star running back were already in full swing. Several teams, notably the Bills and the Chiefs, emerged as ideal suitors for the trade., as his addition to either team would undeniably bring monumental changes. However, due to his substantial salary cap hit, the trade talks almost died down, eventually leading to his departure from the team.
After parting ways with his former team, Cook found himself in high demand, with several teams coveting his athleticism. The Jets were also among the suitors who tried to sign him before and after his release from the Vikings. However, the RB had his sights set on his hometown team from the beginning. Do the Chiefs get affected by losing suitable free agents?
This is not the only instance when the Chiefs made a tough call and crossed a player’s name off their wishlist. They even released their star, wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, from the team, even after a Super Bowl winning performance. However, they still made a comeback and won the 2022 Lombardy trophy with ease.
