For Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, life seems to have come full circle. Drafted in 2005, the quarterback spent the first two seasons of his NFL career as a benchwarmer behind Hall of Famer Brett Favre.
As Favre took on the role of mentor, Rodgers grew from strength to strength and eventually took over the reins with Favre’s departure. And now Aaron Rodgers finds himself in a rather similar situation.
With Rodgers’ future now uncertain following his fractured ties with the side’s front office, there’s a lot of intrigue over who will be the Packers QB in 2002. And the situation seems rather similar to that of 2005.

Though the Packers stand the risk of losing their franchise QB, they do have a young first-rounder waiting on the wings. Young QB Jordan Love was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2020 and is yet to get his chance on the big stage.
While Rodgers is undoubtedly set to be the Packers QB1 through 2021, things could change in 2022. And according to Love, he’s getting all the support in the world from Aaron Rodgers to take over when the time is right.

During a recent press conference, Jordan Love was asked about his relationship with Aaron Rodgers following what was a crazy offseason for the franchise overall.

And Love clearly being a Star Wars fan, compared his relationship with Rodgers to that of a Padawan (apprentice Jedi) and that of a Jedi master.

“It’s kind of like the Master and the Padawan kind of thing,” Love said. “Just trying to learn as much as I can from him.”
In this case, Love is the Padawan and Rodgers the Jedi master. “The biggest thing for me is just being able to watch him… You get that knowledge from a Hall of Famer, in my second year, it’s valuable,” Love added.

Though Aaron Rodgers might not be around at Green Bay in 2022, he’s making sure that the franchise has a starter ready in young Jordan Love.
