Heroes in the realm of the NFL are not easily forgotten, even in the face of adversity. Sometimes, they emerge from the sidelines, wielding their voices as powerful weapons for change. Colin Kaepernick has been the epitome of that narrative ever since his controversial stance put an end to his gridiron journey. However, nearly 7 years later, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback yearns to return to the big leagues. And behind this resurgent desire stands a fierce advocate, a partner who has fearlessly championed his cause.
Kaepernick’s long-time partner and mother of his child, Nessa Diab, has been a force of unwavering support in the signal-caller cum activist’s journey in the past few years. Nessa reiterated Kaepernick’s words from his latest interview with her own compelling case, captivating hearts and minds alike.

35-year-old Colin Kaepernick recently played football once again. However, it wasn’t the format he desperately desires to conquer. The free agent spoke to USA Today Sports this week during the launch of the ‘Wild Card Football’ video game. And the fire for real action is still very much alive in the former NFL star.
“I still train for it every day. I still prepare for it every day. More than anything is trying to get someone to open the door and evaluate me based upon the merits of what I can do on the field, as opposed to it being a political issue,” Kaepernick said. The ex-Niner controversially took a stand against social injustices by taking a knee during the National Anthem, during a 2016 preseason game. And ever since, his NFL career and subsequent return have been shrouded in a cloud of controversies and reluctance.
“Unless you have loved something so much and been working at it since the age of 8, you may never really understand Colin’s love for being a QB,” Nessa said, sharing his latest interview on her IG story.

Colin Kaepernick isn’t just yearning for a one-year return to the big leagues. He’s aiming for the Vince Lombardi trophy. And not just one championship. “I’m coming back to win a championship and try to win multiple championships,” he said.
However, until that happens, he has the best way to keep himself occupied.
The digital gridiron will have to do for Kaepernick till an NFL team calls for him
Colin Kaepernick joined Detroit Lions‘ wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown in a thrilling encounter of Xs and Os. Although St. Brown clinched the victory in thrilling fashion, Kaepernick’s knack for video games is certainly putting him on a learning arch in the arcade-style video game. Other than ‘Wild Card Football’, Kaepernick also dabbles in ‘The Legend of Zelda’, ‘Final Fantasy’ and ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ sessions. That is until his agent gets the all-important call from one of the 32 NFL teams.
“I’ll keep banging on those doors, but until then, we’ll get the competition and that urge out while playing (video games),” Kaepernick said.
