Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes tweeted his admiration for star player Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. His tweet also mentions Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat, with Mahomes not being particularly impressed with the Heats star’s performance.

The tweet clarifies that to Mahomes, Butler is just playing his regular brand of basketball while Doncic is actually having a spectacular season.

Patrick Mahomes impressed by Doncic’s exploits

A known fan of the sports and a follower of the Mavericks, Mahomes has of late tweeted often about Doncic. The Mavericks player’s skills and abilities have not gone unnoticed by the NFL star.

In particular, Mahomes tweeted on the Mavericks’ thrashing of the Phoenix Suns, in which Doncic played a key role by scoring 27 points single-handedly.

In his tweet, Mahomes put up a video of Doncic side shuffling and wrote “Jimmy be hoopin!! but….”

How has Jimmy Butler fared this season?

The Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler has also been in excellent form this season, scoring 40 points in two games and 30 in three others. He is third in scoring behind only Giannis and Luka Doncic.

Despite this, the veteran’s performance has not impressed Mahomes. Doncic’s show has dazzled Mahomes, but he feels Butler has shown nothing special this season.

Butler’s performance has not been terrible this season. In fact, many would argue that his performance has been good. Mahomes’ assessment may well be based on his liking for Texan teams while also showing the spectacular impact Doncic is having this season.

What lies ahead for Mahomes?

With the 2022 season upcoming, Mahomes must rev up to get into the fixture head-on. The success of the Chiefs would depend to some extent on Mahomes’ shoulders.

The Chiefs begin their regular season against the Arizona Cardinals on September 11, following three preseason games.
