Matt Ryan is going on the record books for sure. And it’s not one of the wonderful records. The Indianapolis Colts QB is going for a new high in blowing double-digit leads. Saturday’s 39-36 loss to the Minnesota Vikings after blowing a 33-point lead was too much to handle for some. And that included Matt’s family members as well.
Matt Ryan’s wife, Sarah, didn’t like what she saw and subtly tried to change the topic. She was really hoping people forgot the former Atlanta Falcons QB’s embarrassing Saturday show with the grandeur of the FIFA World Cup Men’s Final between Argentina and France. The clash between the South American and European giants ended in favor of Lionel Messi and the Albiceleste.
After a thrilling 3-3 in 120 minutes, Argentina won 4-2 on penalties to clinch the greatest glory in the soccer world. And Sarah was quick to point at that. “What an incredible game between Argentina and France! Makes you totally forget about anything crazy that may have happened in the NFL yesterday,” she tweeted about Matt Ryan’s colossal collapse.
Matt Ryan has some previous experience in blowing crucial double-digit leads
No one can forget the unforgettable comeback of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI. The game that has been since infamously nicknamed the ’28-3′ is one tough night for Matt and Sarah Ryan to forget. Matt Ryan could have been a Super Bowl champion. However, he was facing the greatest comeback artist in the history of the NFL, Tom Brady. And the Patriots scripted history as they won 34-28, coming back from a 25-point deficit to set the record for the biggest comeback in a Super Bowl game.
Kirk Cousins did the same and some more on Saturday. The Minnesota Vikings’ 33-point comeback is the largest in NFL history getting ahead of the Buffalo Bills’ 32-point comeback against the Houston Oilers in 1992. Cousins threw 4 touchdowns compared to Matt’s solo TD. The Vikings QB also threw for 460 yards while Ryan only managed 182.
