A major concern this year has been quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The veteran quarterback has been playing with a thumb injury this season.
Matt LaFleur is not worried about Aaron Rodgers
Despite the quarterback’s condition, the Green Bay Packers have no intention of benching Rodgers. Head coach Matt LaFleur has the utmost confidence in his quarterback. He said, “Aaron’s one of the toughest guys I’ve ever been around in terms of just being able to battle through multiple injuries, so that never crossed my mind,” LaFleur also added that it all depended on how Rodgers communicated where he stands. The head coach believes that Rodgers has played through a lot worse and is “old-school tough”. Rodgers has been playing with an injured thumb for a while now.
Having suffered the injury in Week 5, one would assume an injury to the team’s quarterback would be a cause for concern. The difference in Rodgers’ performance prior to and after the injury is quite visible. But the former MVP has not used his injury as a justification for his mediocrity this season. LaFleur also stated that Rodgers’ injury has not impacted his play-calling. Recently, fans were treated to the sight of an angry Aaron Rodgers. The quarterback was frustrated with LaFluers playcalling and made it quite evident. Although the duo has buried the hatchet, the Packers nation isn’t impressed with their overall lack of consistency.

Rodgers has a long road ahead of him
The Green Bay Packers have a long, uphill climb ahead of them. Ranked behind the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions in the NFC North, the Packers’ hopes for this season are beginning to diminish. For a minute, Packers fans were able to keep their hopes up when their team defeated the Cowboys in a thrilling 31-28 showdown.
They managed to break a long losing streak with that victory. But, the team followed it up with a humiliating 12-27 defeat to the Titans. At the end of the day, the Packers are not in a very good position. Their playoff chances look slim at this point in the season. Is LaFleur putting too much on Rodgers’ shoulders in terms of the execution of his offensive vision? Or do the Packers have to take a step back and focus on building a foundation for the next season?
