Kyler Murray and Arizona Cardinals get a new savior to salvage their offensive unit in the form of DeAndre Hopkins. He was inducted into the 53-man roster on Monday. While the trade deadline was about to arrive, the Cardinals made a smart move to strengthen their receiver corps by adding another entity after losing Hollywood Brown for a few more weeks. The five-time Pro Bowler was facing a six-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. This move shall certainly enable the offensive unit to get back on track. They are currently trailing with a season record of 2-4 and sitting in the last spot among other rivals in the NFC West.

The Cardinals have made this adjustment by releasing the placekicker Matt Ammendola, who served for two weeks in the franchise. He was unable to convert an extra point against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday leading to a 19-9 loss in Week 6.

Meanwhile, coach Kliff Kingsbury has also added Robbie Anderson from the Carolina Panthers on Monday to partner Hopkins and fill the void for Hollywood Brown. He suffered a foot injury on Sunday’s game.

The 30-year-old Clemson product has an impeccable record, finishing for 1000+ yards six times in his career. Unfortunately, he missed the latter parts of the last season due to injuries. However, he registered 42 receptions for 572 yards and eight touchdowns last year. The Cardinals’ head coach also affirmed that his mere presence might prove helpful for the side. They can utilize him at various positions going deep into the season.

“His role, where we anticipate playing him. We still want to use him in different positions and maximize what he can do, but we definitely will adjust his role considering what occurred yesterday,” Kingsbury said to the reporters.
