NFL fans will all anticipate some very exciting playoff games this season, especially after the latest rule change. After increased scrutiny surrounding the league’s overtime rules, this update will definitely be more than acceptable.
Last year’s playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills left the football world questioning the fairness of the rule. But Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen will be pleased with this modification, especially the Bills QB.

The thrilling game between the Bills and Chiefs, in the last season, was pushed to OT where Mahomes won the coin toss and subsequently the game. On the other hand, Allen never got a chance to hold the ball during the extra time. Two months later, the league evaluated the situation and approved a rule that made sure both teams got to have a minimum of one possession in any playoff game that is tied.
But with the latest rule change, the postseason games that go to overtime cannot end with a touchdown on the opening possession. If one team scores a TD, subsequently the other team will also get a chance to score. If both teams score in overtime and the game is still tied, it would result in a sudden death situation. So, what do the fans think of this rule change?
Fans are on the fence about this update
NFL Reporter Ari Meirov took to Twitter to remind fans of the rule change. He said, “A reminder with postseason football starting: If a game goes to overtime, both teams are now guaranteed to get possession of the ball, even if the team with the ball first scores a TD. NFL owners approved of that change this past offseason.” One fan made an observation
Didn’t wanna change this when Aaron Rodgers lost 2 playoff games in OT in back to back years without touching the ball but as soon as Josh Allen loses without touching the ball there’s a rule change😭

This user took a shot at the Bills.
Sure would’ve been nice if they had approved this after the Pats-Chiefs AFC Championship game, but I forgot, if the Bills cry, then shit gets done, anything for the Bills.

One user commented on the frequent rule changes.
I can’t think of any other sports league that adjusts its rules as frequently as the NFL.
