Tennessee Titans wide receiver Julio Jones was part of New Orleans Saints’ running back Mark Ingram II’s tweet about dominant WRs in NFL history. Ingram did share his views on the discussion while retweeting former NFL wide receiver Torrey Smith’s tweet. Both former NFL wideouts were trying to figure out collectively who the greatest WR was in the league’s history.

While discussing some of the best WRs in history, names like Jerry Rice, Randy Moss did get considerable support. But one of the current players in the NFL did get great support and his name is Julio Jones. The Tennessee Titans WR has had a really great run in his first 10 NFL seasons. He ranks 2nd behind the legendary career of Jerry Rice in receiving yards(12,896). While Jones also ranks 4th in most receptions all-time.

The fact that Jones is still only 32 years old and still in his physical prime only makes his achievements that much more impressive. In his tweet, Ingram states, “Whoever say Julio not one of the most dominate receivers in NFL history just simply is not a football person. Period.”

Julio Jones and his impressive career
The numbers behind Jones and his impressive career don’t do justice to his achievements. Jones during his college years did lead Alabama to a 14-0 undefeated season. He did become the Falcons’ 6th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and did go on a great run. But his chemistry with Matt Ryan was something that really did aid his growth.

Though he spent almost a decade with the Falcons, Jones never was able to capture a Super Bowl title. Following an injury-ridden 2020 season, the wideout did get traded to the Titans for the 2021 season. It was with the Titans that injury once again did derail his progress in Tennessee.

Despite all the doubts surrounding his availability, Jones is still a tough challenge for any NFL team. There are not many questions with regards to his ability and numbers indicate no WR close competitors. The 7-time Pro Bowler will be a key figure in the Titans‘ push during their Divisional Round game. They will be taking on the QB Joe Burrow-led Cincinnati Bengals who will present a unique challenge to an injury-ridden Titans team.
