Odell Beckham Jr. made headlines yet again. And no, it’s not his final decision between the Cowboys and the Giants. This time it’s something rather unfortunate for OBJ. And no, it’s not another ACL injury. Beckham was part of an airline fiasco where he was asked to de-plane by the flight attendant and the entire NFL world is confused.

The former LA Rams’ wide receiver caused a major holdup at Miami International Airport when he was ejected before his flight’s takeoff. And the reason for his ejection? Refusal to fasten his seatbelt. Or so OBJ’s lawyer announced after the entire incident.

According to OBJ’s lawyer Daniel Davillier, the incident was “completely unnecessary” as Odell Beckham Jr. was not “disruptive or combative.” The Los Angeles-bound American Airlines flight 1228 returned to the gate after OBJ’s apparent unconscious state and refusal to wear the seatbelt. The rest of the passengers on the flight also de-boarded. However, they boarded back on and the flight later departed for LA. Davillier said that this was the case of a flight attendant who wanted to exert his authority unjustly.

Fans think Odell Beckham Jr. had a wild night out

The NFL world was in shock after the entire incident. Odell Beckham Jr. took to Twitter to express his frustration with the entire airline process. The Miami-Dade Police department released an official statement about the incident. “As they tried to wake him to fasten his seat belt, he appeared to be in and out of consciousness. Fearing that Mr. Beckham was seriously ill. And that his condition would worsen through the expected five-hour flight, [aircraft crew members] called for police and fire rescue,” the statement said. However, fans believe that there is more to it than meets the eye.

The 30-year-old wide receiver is a free agent currently and looking for his next franchise in the NFL. OBJ announced last week that he will be chalking his return down with the Dallas Cowboys, Giants, and the Buffalo Bills this week. The WR boarded the flight and pulled on his blanket. However, OBJ dozed off before putting his seatbelt on. And this led to the chaotic scene in Miami.
