The Jacksonville Jaguars went 3-14 last year after drafting highly touted QB talent Trevor Lawrence in 2021. However, after an awful season under Urban Meyer, it was clear that changes needed to be made. But on the other hand, if you told a Jags fan that they would be in the playoffs the following season, it would certainly make for an interesting conversation.

The team went 9-8 to clinch the AFC South division title. While Lawrence made his first-ever appearance in a playoff game, he was able to stage an epic comeback from 27 to 0 against the Los Angeles Chargers to reach the divisional rounds. But it was the farthest they’d reach, as Kansas City Chiefs squashed their dreams and their winning habits with Patrick Mahomes.
Trevor Lawrence lifts up spirits with his leadership
Following the 20-27 loss to the Chiefs, the Jaguars’ fans and players were sporting long faces all across the board. Even the 2nd year QB was not too pleased with the result, but he took it under his stride. Lawrence, before walking into the locker room, stopped and waited for his teammates to offer them a handshake and congratulations.

All I know about Trevor Lawrence wouldn't cover a waffle. But I like the guy. No pouting or ripping on coaches or teammates. Classy. Jags fans have reason to be proud and optimistic.

Doug Pederson was another crucial component of this team. After taking over from Meyers this season, the coach has exceeded all expectations. He declared the long-term project would require some holistic roster building but went on to mount a good playoff charge in his first season. While the jags will rue the missed opportunities which could have taken them over the line. The league understands the threat they possess.

Even one of the all-time great HC, like Andy Reid, can see the potential in the team going forward. “I will tell you, I think Doug has done a phenomenal job,” Reid said. “Their team is better than when we played them (in November). The sky is the limit for them. They’re young. They believe in what they’re being taught and they play hard.”
