Nabers was a highly touted four-star recruit out of high school. He made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2021. However, he truly broke out in his sophomore season this past year, logging an impressive 1,017 receiving yards and 3 TDs. He led the team in both catches and yards. He’s generally seen to be amongst LSU’s leading prospects coming into next season.
Danger is on the horizon for Malik Nabers’ career
With his impressive performance on the field, Nabers has caught the attention of NFL scouts and is viewed as a future prospect in the draft. However, this recent legal trouble may put a damper on his prospects. Carrying a weapon without a proper license or permit is a serious offense and can result in significant legal consequences.
It’s not uncommon for athletes, especially those in high-profile positions, to find themselves in trouble with the law. However, it’s important for them to understand that their actions off the field can have serious consequences on their careers. In Nabers’ case, a misdemeanor charge could potentially impact his future in the NFL.
Fans have been hopeful that the charges aren’t the end of Nabers’ bright future as a player.
He's just 18. It's a misdemeanor for carrying an unlicensed weapon. I'm hoping this will be dismissed so he doesn't lose his future in Football.

What are the ramifications of this case on Nabers’ future?
Thankfully for Nabers, he will not be facing any misdemeanor charges following his arrest. In the aftermath of his arrest, he was set to appear in court, but was released without any bail. A clean record without any significant jail time shall pay heavy dividends for his future. It is unclear when Nabers will be back with the LSU team, but given the length of the offseason, he certainly has time to make his way back. He shall certainly play a major role for the LSU Tigers in the upcoming season, as he will look to increase his stake as an NFL bound prospect.
