But Randi is making sure her mother’s legacy lives on.

Patrick has already made a name for himself in the NFL by turning into one of the best quarterbacks in the league. And all that was possible because he got the opportunity to hone his skills with the right education. Randi wants to make sure that those in need can rise as her son did.

Randi Mahomes has found a special way to honor the memory of her mother. She has initiated a scholarship for the education of students in Debbie Bates’ name. And Randi has also created a ‘GoFundMe’ page for this special purpose.

The initial goal of the ‘Honoring the Life of Debbie Bates Martin’ campaign is to raise $15,000 to create a scholarship for the education of students who need it. Randi gave a brief life history of her mother and how she worked tirelessly for the community till the time of her death. Randi has promised to give away every dollar received in the campaign to a student in the name of her mom.

Debbie saw her grandkid Patrick reach superstardom in the world of football. And after her death, her legacy will live on as a pillar of support for someone’s education.

Debbie Bates was born in Overton, Texas in 1950. She worked at the Whitehouse High School as a registrar for a long time. It was the same high school that her grandson Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany attended.

Debbie was a big cheerleader for all her kids. She recently celebrated Patrick’s most successful season in the NFL in which he won the Super Bowl title with the Chiefs. To add to her happiness, the QB not only defeated Philadelphia Eagles in the title clash, but he also won the league and the Super Bowl MVP award.

She passed away due to health issues more than a week ago. Although she is no more in the world, her legacy will live on in her family. And Randi has made sure it lives on beyond the family walls too.
