This is the story of how one of the NFL’s most dominant tight ends went 11 years without spending a single penny from his NFL earnings.
Wise spending by Rob Gronkowski
Rob Gronkowski made around $70 million during his 11 years as an NFL player. And according to him, he saved the entire amount. He made this claim in his 2015 book ‘Good to be Gronk.’
But how did he do it when he has been known for a lavish lifestyle off the pitch?
The answer, according to Gronkowski, is simple. He lived off the money he made from endorsements. Gronkowski had many endorsements during his time in the NFL. These include deals with Dunkin’ Donuts, Visa, T-Mobile, Lyft, Cheerios, Monster Energy Drink, and Tide. He also did a commercial with USAA. So he had ample money to burn without even looking at his NFL paychecks. Talk about financial planning.
The lavish lifestyle of Gronk
Gronkowski is one of the greatest tight ends to ever play the game. Nicknamed “The Gronk”, Gronkowski has four Super Bowl rings to his name, three with the Patriots and one with the Buccaneers. He also featured five times in the Pro Bowl and four times in the All-Pro. He was also picked to play in the 2010s NFL All-Decade team. But he is also known for his lavish lifestyle off the pitch.
The four-time Super Bowl champion owns a big fleet of cars. His fleet includes top-end cars like a 603 BHP Mercedes-Benz S63, a 602 BHP Audi R8, and a 335 BHP Audi Q7. Gronkowski also owns a Bentley Continental GT. An impressive collection, no?

His houses are equally impressive. The legendary TE purchased a 4,781-square-foot, four-bedroom house in Tampa, Florida in 2012 for a reported $1.6 million. He then reportedly sold the same house for a whopping price of $2.4 million, making a ton of money off it in the process.
Gronkowski owns a 4,486-square-foot Victorian-style home in Foxborough, Massachusetts. He also owns a five-bedroom condo in Miami. The TE also had a $1.9 million house in Boston, which he later sold for $2.3 million.
