The Madden 23 ratings are out, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled with it. Although mixed reactions are pouring in, multiple people have criticized the ratings for lacking much analysis.

Fans on Twitter also trolled the list of top 10 QBs in Madden. Moreover, an interesting insight shows that Patrick Mahomes is ranked higher than Aaron Rodgers in speed despite the NFL combine result comparison.

Aaron Rodgers fared better in speed than Mahomes at the NFL combine, but Madden 23 ranks the latter higher in speed. While Rodgers has an 80-speed rating, it gives Mahomes an 84. Fans are having a hard time digesting these ratings.

Rodgers covered the 40-yard dash in 4.71 seconds at the NFL combine 2005. Compared to Rodgers, Super Bowl MVP Mahomes covered the 40-yard dash in 4.80 seconds in 2017. Despite this record set by the 4x NFL MVP, he finds himself below Mahomes in speed rankings.

Although the 38-year-old’s overall rating is higher than that of Mahomes, he would want his speed ratings to reflect the truth. The Packers‘ QB gets a rating of 96, while the Chiefs’ QB has a ranking of 95 in the latest Madden 23 rankings.

Madden 23 aside, how is the head-to-head record of Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers?

Comparing regular season stats, since Patrick Mahomes got drafted into the NFL in 2017, Rodgers has started more games. However, Mahomes has won more games as a starter than Rodgers. Moreover, both have almost the same completion percentage, but Patrick comes out on top. Mahomes has a 66.1% completion percentage, and Rodgers has a 65.7% completion percentage.

In summary, both QBs are doing considerably well compared to each other, but Madden 23’s speed ratings are arguable. Even though Rodgers covered the ground more quickly, doesn’t it seem unfair to give Mahomes the competitive advantage in speed over the 4x NFL MVP?
