The death of Carlos Thomas

The authorities said that Carlos Thomas, father of Bucs linebacker Devin White, died after he complained about sudden back pain. The prison staff transferred him to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. But Thomas could not reach the hospital and became unresponsive in the ambulance. The staff conducted life-saving procedures on him but to no avail. The authorities are conducting an autopsy to know exactly what killed Thomas.

Thomas came to the Natchitoches prison on October 14 while waiting to go to trial on federal offenses.

White played in the Bucs’ game against the Seattle Seahawks after his father’s death. The Bucs’ head coach praised the mental toughness of the linebacker after the game in Munich, Germany. White also opened up about the emotions running through him.

“It was very hard to play. Just a lot of emotions. But I tried to turn them into good emotions and just keep a great spirit. That’s the relationship we had—just all about ball, all about just going out there and being the best and just getting this thing turned around,” White said in the post-match press conference on Sunday.
